Grotta Gigante

A specialized guide will accompany you for about an hour along a route of 850 meters to discover the wonders of the underground world.

From the visitor center a natural entrance leads to the first gallery: from here the descent begins, consisting of 500 steps developed on ramps.

Reservation required – visit duration approximately 1 hour

Strada Napoleonica

Very easy path with beautiful views of the city and the gulf of Trieste: this is the Vicenza or Napoleonic road, as the people of Trieste call it.

Five kilometers, which connect Opicina (Obelisco) with Prosecco, surrounded by greenery. Towards the end of the route, the vegetation becomes less dense and the rock makes its way, where some vertical walls have become points of reference for free-climbers.

5 km – approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. (slight climb on the way back)

Lipizza

Lipica is the home of the Lipizzaners and the largest purebred stud farm in the world, offering many activities to do especially with children.

You can take a nice walk through the beautiful park where with a bit of luck you can admire the beautiful white horses grazing. A visit to the stables and a nice relaxing carriage ride. For lovers of the genre we would like to point out that Lipica is also known for the presence of a large golf course open all year round and very popular especially by foreigners.

Porto Piccolo

A small village overlooking the sea, very close to the Sistiana beach.

It consists of small houses (mainly for tourist use) set in the karst rock, a 5-star hotel, haute cuisine restaurants, a world-class spa, the beach and yacht club.

Worth a visit at sunset for an aperitif overlooking the sea.

Santuario di Monte Grisa

The National Temple of Mary Mother and Queen is a Catholic Marian sanctuary north of the city of Trieste. It rises at an altitude of 330 meters on Mount Grisa, from where you have a spectacular view of the city and the gulf. It can be reached by car and has a convenient car park or from the Napoleonica path taking the CAI trail sign n°12.

We point out the presence of the restaurant called “Casa del Pellegrino” to taste simple cuisine made of traditional dishes such as lubjansca (breaded and fried cutlet, stuffed with raw ham and cheese) or gnocchi with wild boar or venison.
